Kuching's Snack Food

Somehow of late, I have not been writing about Kuching food. Maybe because the enthusiasm to lugged my digital camera had dwindled or maybe I hate the funny stares that I get whenever I snap food photos. What, I have horns?!

Anyway, the two photos below were taken during one of those late evening supper food hunt. Oddly Apam Balik pancakes are only available at night in Kuching? Maybe there are stalls selling them during the day that I missed?

Char Siew pau (Roast Pork Bun), Bak pau (Meat Bun), Tau Sar pau (Red bean bun) and Sio Bee (Dumplings) are commonly found in coffee shops around Kuching. Great for breakfast and afternoon tea.

Blogger's rights

Wat da Fark!? .... OMG, that's my second swear word on my blog and it is because I am ultra cheesed at this. (for English translation click here)

I am not surprised at what happened to HB site, but I am pissed nevertheless. Why? Maybe because I am blogger and if you are a blogger and are reading this, you ought to feel the same too. I never condone any wrong doing nor I encourage any of it but the fact that the rights as a blogger has been compromised and it made me feel violated.

Newspapers have the tendencies to sensationalized news and take information out of context. However as the society matures, the mass media have to be aware, that not all Ah Lian and Ah Beng will fall for it. People have thoughts and the media have a huge responsibility in disseminating intellectual and factual information.

Please do not discriminate. Every bloggers has their own rights and are entitled to free speech.

New leaves, old tree

During my childhood, I remembered adults tend to scare children with phrase like, ".... you better stop that or else the police will come and catch you!" Amazingly it worked like a charm and innocently kids back then will immediately scampered home to hide. Unfortunately, over the years the fright tactic somehow left a huge psychological scar in many Malaysians; the fear for police.

Myself is no exception and until today whenever I see a uniformed personnel I will be taken aback. Not that any wrong doing was committed but somehow a fear is at the back of the mind. Then, the years staying oversea opened me up to many things and one of them is how they perceive their enforcement force as their guardian. Why the indifference? Reading Aziz's recent post made me wondered if it possible to turn over a new leaf? In a reserve Asian society like Malaysia, the thought of speaking up is the last thing that a person wants to do. And in my opinion that's the whole bloody problem!

It is good to see that as our society progresses, people are more outspoken in tandem with their right awareness. As seen with the recent case of 4 Chinese women being wrongfully retained, nobody ought to be treated in such ways nor can one be higher than the law. Be it, only one or two bad apple in the tree force but if the rampant misuse of power and the mentality to take things personally will be a huge setback to the already tagged corrupt country. Let see some transparency and let justice prevails.

Make a difference Malaysians, time to speak up!

Titleist 2006 NEW 905R 460cc Driver

New Titleist 905R driver? Yes, rumours have been thriving ever since Ernie Els debut it at the 2005 British Open. And it seems pretty sure that Titleist will unveil a new line of drivers in the first quarter of 2006 together with their new irons 695 and 660.

The driver will be a 460 cc head using largely the same technology as the current 905T & S models. Shaft options should be the same as well.

No official or spy photos are available yet but I have this link (with photos) to a purportedly tour released model been sold at ebay. Click HERE and HERE

To discuss, kindly leave me a message in my comment section or my email.

Also, read my latest review on Scotty Cameron Newport Titleist 2005 Putter.

Titleist PRO Trajectory 904F Review

Yahoo! The Titleist 904F is finally here.

I have been eyeing this fairway wood ever since trying it out at their Demo day (click to see more photos). The club was bought off ebay and it arrived promptly and safely despite the insecurity of not knowing the quality nor the content from a foreign seller. Many thanks to the ever reliable UPS.

904F 3 wood 15 degree with TT Dynamic Gold S300 steel shaft

The first thing I noticed about the 904F, is how beautifully it sit at address. Looking from the top, the pear shape some what inspires confident. The scoring lines are painted white, which increases their visibility that helps set up to the sweet spot.

All my fairway woods are steel shafted as I felt it let me go at it without losing them. The improved weight distribution and a lower CG (Center of Gravity) in this 904 also meant that it increases its playability and workability. The ball gets up relatively easy and forgiveness is excellent, a rare attribute in a Titleist club. The feel at impact is also somewhat different to traditional Titleist muted sound, this 904F had a more solid zing to it. The ball trajectory surprised me, as it bore through the wind with minimal deflection that resulted in the much sought after distance. A great club for playing short or tight par 4s and going after those eagle at par 5s. :-)
--------------------------------------------------

For those that are technically incline, here's an excerpt from Titleist.com

Built to the same Tour inspired standards as Titleist drivers, the new Pro Trajectory 904 fairway metals have been engineered to deliver improved looks, feel and ball flight. Critical to fairway performance is CG location and through extensive research and player testing, Titleist designers have been able to optimize the weight distribution in the new 904. By moving the CG lower, toward the face, and the optimum distance from the shaft axis, the 904 provides both initial launch and downrage ball flight benefits as well as increased ball speed on center face impacts. The 904 launches a full degree higher and spins approximately 400rpm less, providing easy-up high launch with a flat downrange flight. The improved CG location slightly decreases dynamic face closure enhancing the high initial launch angle and helping produce optimum ball flight.

Design: Face insert construction featuring a 275 Carpenter steel face insert for solid, lively feel and higher ball speed.

Construction: Precision cast 355 Carpenter steel body with strategic internal weight pads in the sole and skirt walls.

Stock Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold Steel

Stock Grip: Titleist Tour Velvet Cord

Lofts: 15°

Odyssey putter grip change

Ever since I bought my odyssey putter, it had gone through only one grip change and sadly, after only 3 months, this is how it looked like.
This crummy Odyssey replacement grip was chosen simply because of its soft tacky feel and in-fashion colour, Red. However it was a big dissapointment as the poor quality surfaced within one month of usage. (The original grip lasted for years!)

Today, the putter under went another grip operation. Since putter is the most used club during any golf game, the latest Golf Pride putter grip, new for 2005 lineup : New Decade Red was chosen for this task.

At the operating table

Oh boy, I just can't wait to review it on course and I know I am going to love it simply because it is distintively RED! - A Good Feng-Shui colour :-)

Chicken Little Scam SMS?

It was a long day yesterday and as I plunged myself onto my fluffy sofa, my mobile phone beeped. It was a short message (SMS)

When I retrieved the message, it wrote "Enjoy our promotion! You may redeem free ringtone Chicken Little Theme Song now! Just sms <1133m> for mono and <1133p> for poly to 39444" from 39444Hmm... FREE ring tone download? Somehow I got this squirmy feeling that it's a scam, what say you all? Have anyone received or tried this?

Footjoy Golf Shoe Review

The caption says it all, Footjoy. #1 shoe in golf. In my 10+ years of golfing adventures, I have gone through various brand of shoes and yet Footjoy remains as one of my favorite, simply because of its comfort.

I preferred walking during my round of golf, which normally last for about 4 odd hours and having a comfortable shoe with good support is most vital. The model that I recently bought and featured here is Footjoy eComfort#57856 (eComfort 57856) Taupe Smooth/ Brown Smooth Underlay/ White Smooth. The full grain leather uppers offer outstanding waterproof comfort, breathability, and durability. The availability of different width size is also a plus to me, as I have fat wide feet. The in-shoe come with super soft PU (poly urethane) linings that look and feel like leather and provide excellent fit and comfort. There is a inter changeable pad that is not listed on it website or it's manual. Green= soft and Yellow= super soft. It can be found at the bottom of the box, so please do take note before throwing out the box! The midsoles are made of EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) which provide lightweight cushioning underfoot. EVA does not take a set, so the cushioning will remain constant for the life of the shoe. The outsole is made of DuraMax which is a proprietary rubber compound that provides turf gripping and performance and durability. The Fast Twist System (FTS) installed is the most preferred cleat insert system on the market today. One-quarter turn secures and releases the cleat for quick changing. While Pulsar cleats by Softspikes® are the #1 selling cleat in golf and the overwhelming choice of touring professionals worldwide. The Pulsar cleats feature all the same turf grip and walking comfort advantages of Black Widow plus the additions of and radiused legs for extra durability and cleat webbing for easier cleaning.

In Malaysia, the warranty is only for 6 months, which is unlilke FootJoy U.S. Warranty that warrants the golf shoe to be waterproof in normal use for one year. I wonder why the discrepency?Nevertheless it is a great comfortable shoe and why not give it a try on your next round. A happy 2 thumbs toes up from me :-)

Can a blogger sue another blogger?

What the heck? Can we sue one another? and why are there so much hostilities in blogsphere recently?!!

This one started all because of one women, the hottest one at moment I might add, Dawn Yang. Or rather a purportedly naked Dawn Yang. A new/not so new infamous Mr. cut & paste somehow stirred the pot again and this time he tried making rOjAk (which need skilled preparation and not cut & paste no brainer) which went sour obviously. Why do I blog?

I am still pondering over the reason or rather the lack of reason why I blog.

It's still not for money and definitely not for fame. Maybe because I thought it would be a free new world for me to express things but oh-boy I was dead wrong! Any blogger would know that there is no such thing as expression of freedom especially with the recent court cases. As Aizuddin from PPS pointed out, blogsphere consist mostly teenagers young adults and yet it is already full of politics, urgh!

I left the corporate world many years ago because of its politics, I dislike joining organization or charitable body because it also contain elements of politics. Even at golf courses nowadays, people are doing it. Darnit! (OMG! did I just swore? This blogging thing is bad influence, *cough cough*) Politic leads to war and today I learnt a new word, click here and here to understand Blog War.

Sigh*

A blog can be a (very) powerful tool, do use it constructively and wisely.

Life is full of secrets

My life is full of dark secrets and yet I don't have much to hide about myself. I am like a ticking time bomb, just waiting to self destruct with so many secrets inside me!

From a young age, familly and friends tend to confide in me as they knew I am as good as my word and will never disclose anything to anyone. An attribute that is extremely bad for my mental health and it's like a self sworn secrecy, a system that locked away details far inside me for eternity.

A friend nearly died last weekend and I am the only person in this world that knew what had happened. Without a word, my friend knew that I will never divulge what had happened and this frustrate the already confused me.

I know life is full of secrets but how much or how long can one hang on to them? ….

The Blonde Painter

This blonde decides one day that she is sick and tired of all these blond jokes and how all blondes are perceived as stupid, so she decides to show her husband that blondes really are smart. While her husband is off at work, she decides that she is going to paint a couple of rooms in the house. The next day, right after her husband leaves for work, she gets down to the task at hand. Her husband arrives home at 5:30 and smells the distinctive smell of paint. He walks into the living room and finds his wife lying on the floor in a pool of sweat. He notices that she is wearing a ski jacket and a fur coat at the same time. He goes over and asks her if she is ok. She replies yes. He asks what she is doing. She replies that she wanted to prove to him that not all blonde women are dumb and she wanted to do it by painting the house. He then asks her why she has a ski jacket over her fur coat. She replies that she was reading the directions on the paint can and they said....

Happy Holidays

Too all friends and readers,

Happy Holidays and keep safe. I am going to out golf myself;
Morning golf, afternoon golf, evening driving range for 4 continuous days.
Someone call 911 to report a missing person if you don't hear from me next week!

Cheers. *hick* (Remember, don't drink and drive!)
